The aggregation of information on human disease and health on a spatially referenced map platform will allow assembly of other important spatial variables on populations, environmental and social factors. The platform will support visualizations to overlay health and disease with other variables and build heat maps for various diseases. It should enable plotting and charting tools to visualize data on diseases, health and other environmental, social and economic variables on a spatial platform. Simple tools to query, slice, dice and analyse spatial data with simple correlations and functions will help in building mathematical and simulation models to understand the dynamics of human diseases for better surveillance, management, control and prevention. Evidence driven action on the management of health and disease in populations and prevention and intervention mechanisms will provide open and free access to data on human health and disease to drive data-driven research, planning and policy.
